Denise - I also get my milk from Rollinsford, from Brookford Farm, an organic Jersey milk dairy - it is wonderful. Their contact info is here: http://brookfordfarm.com/ (make sure to check out the pictures!)

I don't know if that is the same farm Jeannie frequents, though - I'd be interested to know!

Jeannie,
What is the name of the farm in Rollinsford where you get your milk? I live in Berwick and would love a local source of cow's milk. We get goat's milk from a friend nearby and make cheese - it is wonderful.

Audrey: you can make your own applesauce very easily with a food mill and local apples. It freezes great so you can have it all winter long for your daughter. Let me know if you would like a recipe or directions.

How have these changes affected your husband\'s diabetes? I am familiar with the disease only because of media coverage (and one friend whose Type II is in remission after gastric bypass surgery)

Hi Jeannie,

I remember you from the Flag Hill cooking class. I was just thinking of you last week, because for the first time on my local foods journey, I only had to go to the grocery store to buy apple sauce for my daughter's medicine intake. And I am looking forward to buying a caseload of applesauce from Apple Annie's this fall to last for the rest of the year! It was very strange not needing to go to the store, and very satisfying.
