The Story of Stuff
I just came across a great little short film about consumerism. It is highly motivating to keep things local once you watch it. Check it out:

that is a really thought provoking video, especially as we move into this stuff buying season! And it really highlights some of the complex reasons that buying locally is a good idea - we don’t want our dollars to contribute to a system that takes away the natural wealth of other places and substitutes that with pretty crappy jobs.
