Rye Honor Your Home and Green Saturday Morning Program

The Rye Energy Committee is collaborating with the Seacoast Science Center and Clean Air Cool Planet to hold its third annual art and energy project: Honor Your Home. To participate, Rye residents must commit to taking three or more actions that lesson their carbon footprint. Committed participants will be honored by an artist painting a picture of their home. These pieces of art will be on exhibit and for sale at the Seacoast Science Center from November 12 through December 16. The proceeds from the sale of the paintings will support the Rye Energy Committee, Seacoast Science Center, and local artists.

In addition to the paintings there will be the Green Saturday Morning Program at the Seacoast Science Center. These programs are open to anyone, even people who are not Rye residents. The programs will be on Saturday mornings beginning in May, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program on September 11, 2010, will be “Local Foods, Farming, and Sustainable Practices” with UNH professor John Carroll.
