NHLGC’s June “NH Town and City” Focuses on “Agriculture Across New Hampshire”

The June issue of the [1] New Hampshire Local Government Center’s publication [2] New Hampshire Town and City has a title of its own: “Agriculture Across New Hampshire.” The magazine has several articles focused on NH’s agriculture. One article is about agricultural commissions. This article is a great, compact resource about why agricultural commissions are important and how they can be started.
One of the ways that an agricultural commission can most directly benefit a community is by reviewing its zoning ordinance and land use regulations to ensure that they are “farm friendly” and do not result in overly onerous impacts on the agricultural community. . . . This is a direct way for the community to work toward preserving its “rural character.”
Take a look at [3] “Agricultural Commissions: Keeping Agriculture Viable in New Hampshire Communities.” Or see the entire June issue using the NHLGC’s great interactive tool: [4] http://www.nhlgc.org/publications/tc_issues.asp. You can also see the April and May issues while you’re there.
