The Gourmet Garden Crawl
Sunday, June 13
2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

at Rippling Waters Organic Farm

The Gourmet Garden Crawl is a fundraiser for Rippling Waters Organic Farm’s school garden work that celebrates sustainable Maine foods and farmers and our efforts to reconnect people with the land. We provide material, managerial, and educational support for four school gardens in Maine School Administrative District #6, with plans to cultivate additional gardens in the area.

Guests are welcome at the farm at 2:00 p.m. to mingle and enjoy canapés prepared by executive chef Thomas Sheehan of Bon Appétit at Saint Joseph’s College (Standish). The propane-propelled school buses (generously lent by MSAD #6) will depart at 2:30 p.m. to visit three of our school garden sites:

- the newly installed raised beds at Edna Libby Elementary School (Standish);
- the in-ground garden, including a recently planted fruit patch, at George E. Jack Elementary (Standish);
- and the state-of-the-art solar greenhouse at Bonny Eagle Middle School (Buxton).

Each garden will feature an acclaimed local chef preparing seasonal Maine foods. We look forward to sampling the creations of Jeff Landry of The Farmer’s Table (Portland), Joshua Mather of Joshua’s (Wells), and Earl Morse of Portland Harbor Hotel (Portland). In the event of rain, the afternoon’s proceedings will take place inside the schools.

The Crawl concludes back at the farm with desserts by Hannah Matthewson of Caiola’s (Portland), drinks, live music, and a live auction.
