Slow Food Seacoast Annual Meeting, January 9

sflogo_red-2.jpgRounding out this week-end’s events is Slow Food Seacoast’s Annual Meeting & Potluck, Sunday, January 9:

Please join us in on Sunday January 9 for our first potluck gathering of the year: “Celebrating the New Year by Remembering the Old”. How might we do that? By preparing a dish with something from the local 2010 harvest: canned, frozen, butchered, pickled, dried or root cellared. Shouldn’t be too hard to do but if you are plum out of ideas, you can visit the Winter Market in Exeter on Jan 8th to stock up on something local.

Meeting Agenda

Our Annual Meeting is a preview of the year ahead and an opportunity for you to share thoughts and make suggestions for events and gatherings. This is a great opportunity to bring your ideas to the table around potlucks, workshops, events and speakers. We are also very interested in feedback about specific Slow Food USA initiatives (www.slowfoodusa.org) as we are re-examining our connection to our parent organization.

In addition, we are seeking nominations for 4 people interested in joining the Slow Food Seacoast Board. Many of our current board members will be continuing:

John Forti and Alison Magill, co-leaders

Erin Jenkins, treasurer

Pam Angulo and Laura Spelke, co-secretaries

Amy Pollard, outreach coordinator

Sadly we are saying good-bye to our membership coordinator, Jenny Isler as she heads off for a new career! Thank-you Jenny!

We are seeking to fill 3 “at-large” positions and the membership coordinator. The at-large positions are open to anyone interested in working on one or more of the following areas:

……Planning potlucks and coordinating topics

……Creating marketing materials

……Coordinating larger events

……Blogging and communications

Board members commit to one meeting per month and assisting with our larger events. If you have an interest or have any questions, please email us at slowfoodseacoast@gmail.com.
