Become a beekeeper! Pawtuckaway Beekeepers’ Association is offering their annual Bee School — an 8-week course, starting February 21:
Patuckaway Beekeepers’ Assocation — 2011 Bee School
Location: Henry W. Moore School, 12 Deerfield Rd., Candia, NH
Weekly Schedule: 8 weeks beginning Monday, February 21 through April
Time: 6:30–7 p.m. – optional demo or video; 7–9 p.m. – class
Once a year we offer Bee School, a series of Monday evening classes in beekeeping taught by beekeepers. In eight weekly classes, bee-ginners will learn:
• The fascinating life cycle of the honey bee
• How to assemble a hive
• How to take care of your bees
• The equipment and tools involved
• A hobby that you will treasure for a lifetime
Each week at 6:30 p.m., we will either show videos of beekeeping or conduct live demonstrations. The class runs from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
The registration fee is $60. This includes Bee School binder, book, PBA membership, monthly newsletter, and lots of fun! Additional family members can attend for $15 each. It is a great opportunity to learn a hobby that gets you in tune with nature.
We hope that current members will join us for some or all of the PBA Bee School. Come and get a refresher, learn something new, or give your advice to the new-bees.
Did you take bee school last year? You can attend again this year for FREE as long as you are a current member (no materials provided). Bring your experiences to share.
